B.I.T.H.

B.I.T.H. (Back In The Hat) is the brainchild of LORRAINE SCOTT. In the midst of a successful award-winning singing career in Toronto Canada, Lorraine always had an underlying passion for decorating and fabrics. She began designing funky hats to wear while performing and it became her signature.

Based on her love of African fabrics, it's symbolism, and extensive colour palette, Lorraine's product line grew to include table linens, bags and pillows. BITH's work was discovered by SHARNE ALGOTTSON, author of the famed 'SPIRIT OF AFRICAN DESIGN', who commissioned BITH to dress a Kwanzaa table at the University of Pennsylvania for the 'TABLES OF THE WORLD' event in December 1997.

BITH opened a showroom where its reputation grew. Toronto (aka Hollywood North) saw the likes of HALLE BERRY dropping by the showroom and becoming a new customer and BITH's designs were used in the promotion of THE LION KING. The BITH line has been featured in ESSENCE magazine and the follow-up book by Sharne Algottson entitled 'AFRICAN STYLE DOWN TO THE DETAILS' which was released in October 2000.

Retail outlets across Canada sell BITH originals. From Vancouver's MESA to HOLLACE CLUNY in Toronto -- BITH's vibrant and fresh unique creations are turning heads and opening up a wider market for the "best kept design secret in Canada". Recent exposure in U.S and Canadian gift shows have shown that there is a growing demand for well-priced, quality-made home accents.

Recognizing that individual tastes and colour schemes are extremely varied and defined, Lorraine's concept is to custom-design her products using the fabric chosen by her customers from an impressive catalogue.

Although Lorraine's days of touring the world as an entertainer may just be fond memories, she now looks forward to the world visiting BITH.
